Episolar attended the Build Africa Forum in Brazzaville Congo to discuss a framework for practical exchange and reflection between the global players who are forging Africa’s development. For two days, policymakers, donor agencies, NGOs and infrastructure and construction experts from around the world, all involved in the major challenges of infrastructures. Project Manager Jonathan Game was invited to speak on the importance of building sustainable projects on the continent of Africa, offering a perspective on foreign investment from the renewable energy sector.

Episolar was invited to speak at the “Canada-Ethiopia High-Level Energy Stakeholders Forum” held in Addis Ababa Ethiopia on 27th November 2013. The forum was a joint effort by the governments of Canada and Ethiopia to bring together leaders from private and public sectors to discuss investment and business opportunities in power, renewable energy and biofuels. Episolar Inc. has recently completed the Canada Trade Mission to Nigeria and Ghana and is happy to report an extremely valuable outcome for all parties involved. The hard work of the Ministry of International Trade, the Canadian High Commissions in Abuja and Accra, and the trade commissioners resulted in very informative sessions and effective meetings. The Honourable Minister Fast’s supportive comments on Canada’s commitment to increase investment and trade in the region were positive and well received. Episolar is devoted to utilizing its successful Ghanaian solar approach in other ECOWAS jurisdictions and this mission will certainly facilitate this ambitious goal. Siginik Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Episolar Inc., is developing a 50MW AC solar installation, West Africa’s largest, in Bole, Northwest Ghana.

In May 2012, Episolar signed a PPA with the ECG, for a 50 MW AC installation with the opportunity for further expansion to increase the overall project size to 150 MW AC. In October 2012, Episolar signed a bankable, Amended and Restated PPA with the assistance of our legal counsel, Trinity LLP. Construction is to begin Q2, 2013
